Thabyay welcomes 15 new students for the 13th intake of University Preparation Program at Kant Kaw Education Center. The new student orientation sessions were held on Friday, September 19, 2015. “This is one of the most ethnically diverse classes,” said Zin Mar Oo, Director of Programs at KKEC. “We have students who came from as far away as Kachin and northern Shan States. We have Naga, Chin, Kachin, Karen, Mon, Rakhine and Burman. Thabyay Offers Study Abroad Information Sessions
September 15, 2014 - U Soe Lay, Program Manager of the Scholarship and Student Support department at Thabyay Education Foundation held a study abroad information session for students at Paung Daw Oo monastic school in Mandalay. Similar counseling sessions were held last month in Pa-an with Education Gathering Group (EGG), where more than 50 students attended. The next ones will be in Pathein and Yangon. September 1, 2014 - Through the Experiential Learning Program, Thabyay Education Foundation annually organizes a regional internship program for leaders of civil society organizations in Myanmar to share and learn from the experiences of their counterparts in Asia region. The internship program provides opportunities for Myanmar CSO/CBO leaders to share their expertise with colleagues in their host organization and, at the same time, learn from their different approaches to tackling some of the issues their organizations face. August 6, 2014 - Today, Sayar Kyaw Sit Naing, a senior leader from The Daw Khin Kyi Foundation gave a special talk on the foundation's works to students of the Kant Kaw Education Center. He also shared his own study abroad experience and how he decided to join the foundation. Kyaw Sit Naing is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Columbia University. August 1, 2014 - Thabyay bids farewell to five of its students, who are soon leaving Myanmar to continue their studies in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand with full scholarship. This is the success story that you all helped write. July 26, 2014 - Students of the University Preparation Program, Kant Kaw Education Center, held a one-day fundraising event - including foods, dances and songs - at the Judson Memorial Center, Yangon. Half of the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the monastic schools in greater Yangon area that the students worked with before. TEF Launched Curriculum Resource Library in Maesot
July 6, 2014 - Thabyay's Curriculum Department launched a book donation and curriculum resource library at its branch office in Maesot, Thailand. More than 3,000 books developed by the Curriculum Department were donated to 11 migrant and camps schools along the Thai-Myanmar border. Teachers from 9 schools and representatives from 6 education organizations attended this event. Study Abroad Resource Guide to be Released
May 23, 2014 - Published in partnership with MSAA (Myanmar Scholar Alumni Association), Thabyay is soon to release the first ever Study Abroad Resource guide for students in Myanmar. The guide features select universities in Asia that have established partnership with TEF. University Foundation Program Batch 10 Graduates
The graduation ceremony for UFC batch 10 was held on April 11, 2014 at the Judson Memorial Center in Yangon. Fourteen students graduated from the University Foundation Program this year. Thabyay Donates Books to Local Monastic Schools
Thabyay's Curriculum Department donated more than 1800 books of various curricular to five local monastic schools. Teachers from the five school attended the book donation event held on the roof top of Kan Kaw Education Center in Hle Dan on February 21, 2014. Danish Students Exchanged Views with Kant Kaw
A group of 22 special high school students from Denmark visited Thabyay Education Foundation and exchanged views with students from the Kant Kaw Education Center.
