![]() Congratulations to our 2014 Scholarship Recipients
August 7, 2014 - Thabyay bids farewell to five of its students, who are soon leaving Myanmar to continue their studies in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand with full scholarship. This is the success story that you all helped write. Thanks to Prospect Burma, Norwegian-Mahidol Scholarship and the United World College for making the dream of higher education comes true for the following students. SAW NAY THURA, a Karen, is originally from Lashio. He completed the University Preparation Program batch 10 at Kant Kaw Education Center this past April. He graduated from high school in Pyin Oo Lwin. Nay Thura receives the Prospect Burma scholarship and is going to study at Rangsit University in Thailand. His major will be International Relations and Development. His goal is to become an ambassador one day. ![]() SHAIN MIN HUN (Sunshine), a Shan, will soon complete his study in the University Preparation Program at Kant Kaw Education Center. Even before completing the University Preparation Program at KKEC, Sunshine is awarded the Norwegian-Mahidol scholarship to study for a masters degree in Environmental Management and Technology at Mahidol University, Thailand. He will start his program in mid-August.
![]() MYO SAN NAW, a Kachin, is originally from Myitkyina, Kachin State. He is a graduate of the University Preparation Program batch 11 at Kant Kaw Education Center. He completed high and studied English at Hope Education Center in Myitkyina before coming to study at KKEC. Myo San Naw receives United World College scholarship and is going to study in the International Baccalaureate program at Li Po Chaun United World College, Hong Kong. Myo San Naw wants to become a civil engineer one day. He has three siblings, who stay in Myitkyina with their parents. His eldest brother is currently studying medicine at Maguay Medical University.
![]() SAI OO HSENG NGIN, a Shan, is originally from Mong Pan, Southern Shan State. He completed University Preparation Program batch 10 at Kant Kaw Education Center. After graduating from the High School in Keng Ton, he continued to study English at the Keng Ton Learning Center before coming to KKEC. Sai oo Hseng Ngin is awarded the UWC scholarship to study in the International Baccalaureate Program at United World College of Southeast Asia in Singapore. He is leaving Myanmar on August 8 to begin his new chapter in life. Sai Oo’s aim is to become an Architect one day. He is the eldest of the three siblings. His younger brother and sister, both students, still live with their parents in Tachelate.
![]() K LING MANG, a Chin, is originally from Mintut, Chin State. After completing the University Preparation Program at Kant Kaw Education Center, he is awarded full scholarship from the Prospect Burma and is going to study at Rangsit University in Thailand this fall. He plans to major in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. His goal is to establish a local capacity centers throughout Myanmar. K Ling Mang came to KKEC through Paung Daw Oo monastic high school in Mandalay.
