for those who wish to develop professional interpretation and translation skills and prepare for a career that serves an increasingly international population in Myanmar and beyond.
“INTRODUCTION TO INTERPRETATION”
“Introduction to Interpretation” program consists of 3 modules (48 hours of instruction). The SIT students will be offered the theory and professional standards of interpreting (8 hours). After this introductory stage, KKSIT students will be given English-Burmese consecutive interpreting training (20 hours) and Burmese-English consecutive interpreting (20 hours). The graduates of the “Introduction to Interpretation” Program will receive the “KKSIT Primary Certificate in Interpreting”, after passing the final KKSIT exams. The Kant Kaw School of Interpretation and Translation is the only organization in Myanmar with the specialization in interpreting training, issuing primary certificates in interpreting. “INTRODUCTION TO TRANSLATION”
“Introduction to Translation” consists of 3 modules (36 hours of instruction). The SIT students will be offered the theory and professional standards of translation (6 hours). Following that, KKSIT students will be given English-Burmese translation training (15 hours) and Burmese-English translation training (15 hours). The graduates of the “Introduction to Translation” Program will receive the “KKSIT Primary Certificate in Translation”, after passing the final KKSIT exams. The graduates will learn about the professional approach to translation, study translation of official documents, as well as literary and business texts. |
