Kant Kaw Education Center’s English for Professionals Program (EPP) aims to help students at different levels of proficiency advance their English language skills. Our variety of course offerings is designed to prepare adult learners for success in pursuing further education or advancing their careers by developing their professional English language abilities. Our English language curriculum focuses on the specific needs, context, and learning environment of Myanmar learners, while also including world knowledge content. The supportive learning environment in which our English courses take place provides students with a positive space to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their academic or professional careers.

Elementary General English This foundational course is designed for elementary English language learners and uses a context-appropriate textbook, Think English Elementary. The lessons start at a high beginner level and progress to an early pre-intermediate level. Pre-intermediate General English This course uses the Think English Pre-Intermediate textbook and moves students into an early intermediate level of English. Students will have ample opportunities to converse in English in order to develop their speaking and listening skills for real-life communication. Intermediate General English Intermediate General English is designed to build students’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing using context-appropriate course materials. Additionally, the lessons at this level include a variety of grammar and vocabulary exercises to help students advance to an upper intermediate level. Upper Intermediate General English* At the upper intermediate level, students are expected to have fairly strong speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. This course helps students to consolidate their language skills and progress to a more advanced level of English comprehension. IELTS Foundation This course is the foundation of our IELTS exam preparation courses. IELTS Foundation is an intermediate course designed for students who have received an IELTS score of at least 5 and are seeking to improve their exam results. IELTS Preparation IELTS Preparation is an upper-intermediate course for students who have received an IELTS score of at least 5.5 and are seeking to improve their exam results. The lessons emphasize developing academic English skills to prepare students for success on the IELTS exam. Communication in Business English* This course helps students develop the fluency and communication skills they need to work confidently in the English-speaking business world. Emphasis is placed on expanding students’ knowledge of key areas of business and on enhancing their ability to communicate effectively across cultures. Academic Reading and Writing 1* This course makes up part 1 of Academic Reading and Writing and is designed for students who want to improve their English language abilities in preparation for further education. At this level, the emphasis is on constructing coherent paragraphs and essays, so that the readings (pre-intermediate level) are more complementary. Academic Reading and Writing 2* Academic Reading and Writing 2 moves students into a low intermediate level of English reading with a focus on how to develop ideas and outlines for essays. Teaching Knowledge Test (Cambridge English Exam Preparation)* This course is designed to enhance your career opportunities by preparing you for success on the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test. This course will also help you gain confidence in your classroom teaching abilities and foster your career development by building your knowledge in specific areas of English language teaching. |
