Thabyay Welcomes New Students 
13th Batch of University Preparation Program

September 22, 2014 -  Thabyay welcomes 15 new students to the University Preparation Program at Kant Kaw Education Center.  The new student orientation sessions for UPP 13th batch were held on Friday, September 19, 2014.   “This is one of the most ethnically diverse classes,” said Zin Mar Oo, Director of Programs at KKEC.  All students went through rigorous admission and interview process.  They come from different parts of the country including Kachin state, Sagaing region and Tanintharyee region.

Our year-long, intensive, residential University Preparation Program (UPP) helps students build the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to successfully apply for scholarships and pursue university studies abroad.  The program offers a unique combination of university foundation courses and service-learning opportunities to enrich students' learning experience and encourage social responsibility through community outreach projects.  This approach provides students with a community context to their education, enabling them to connect their academic coursework and goals to the needs of their communities.
